“An artwork should not only be seen —
it should be felt in the way
it shapes the space around it.”

Stepping into the Savoy Brasserie & Bar in Zurich, guests encounter a site-specific commission by renowned German artist Angela Glajcar. Created for this space, the work draws inspiration from the light and spatial qualities of Zurich, translating them into layered sculptural form.

01. The Idea

“When art connects with its environment, it becomes part of the experience — not apart from it.”

Using her signature technique of overlapping hand-cut sheets of paper — her material of choice — Glajcar absorbs the surrounding atmosphere and makes it visible. The result is a work that shifts with the day’s light, establishing a living dialogue between artwork, architecture, and the people it surrounds.

this installation is more than a visual centrepiece; it is an integral part of the dining experience, subtly priming the senses and inviting guests to see the familiar through a new lens.
