“Living with art is like living with music — it continues the dialogue long after the moment has passed.”

01. The Idea

“Art helps us see ourselves more clearly. It doesn’t just fill a wall — it gives our lives texture and meaning.”

Some collections begin with aesthetics. Others begin with emotion.
For this Frankfurt couple, art became a language — a way to translate their shared love for music into visual form, to bring sound into silence and memory into matter.

In collaboration with interior designer Simone Jüschke, VELVENOIR shaped a collection that is both personal and enduring. Each work was chosen or commissioned, as an extension of the home’s rhythm — aligned with its refined architecture and attuned to the passions that animate its owners.

A commissioned work by Serbian artist Dušica Pejić, After Chopin, anchors the living room in quiet resonance, positioned beside the piano to echo the atmosphere of evenings spent with music. In the entryway, a vivid painting by UK-based artist Paul Wright offers a vibrant welcome — brushstrokes alive with movement, energy, and warmth.

For VELVENOIR, building a collection means creating relationships: between clients and artists, interiors and artworks, memory and expression. Every step — from curatorial concept and artist commissions to framing, placement, and installation — was guided by trust and dialogue.

THE CONCEPT.

building a collection means creating relationships
