Art That Sets the Table
“The first taste begins before the first bite.”
At Orsini, fine dining begins long before the menu is opened. From the moment guests step inside, every visual detail primes the senses for what is to come — shaping anticipation, sharpening curiosity, and preparing the palate through atmosphere.
01. The Idea
An Atmosphere Composed Like a Menu
In collaboration with the interior design team from Tristan Auer, VELVENOIR developed a site-specific art concept that draws on Italy’s layered cultural heritage while speaking in a distinctly contemporary voice. Upon entering, guests encounter the surreal and cinematic photography of Giuseppe Lo Schiavo, whose work blends dreamlike narratives with precise, almost architectural composition. Across the dining room, a ceramic mural by Livia Marin unfurls along the wall — its sculptural surface and quiet rhythm offering a meditative counterpoint to the energy of the kitchen.
THE CONCEPT.
Before the wine is poured or the bread is broken, the art has already set the tone.
Curation as the First Course
This pairing was designed to work as a sensory overture: Lo Schiavo’s imagery sparking curiosity and intellectual engagement, Marin’s ceramics grounding the space in texture, tactility, and timeless craft. Together, they create a subtle dialogue that mirrors the dining experience — layered, deliberate, and unforgettable.
At Orsini, art is not an accessory — it is part of the recipe. It frames the first impression, deepens each moment at the table, and lingers long after the last course is served.
