Happy International Women’s Day to all the powerful, strong and empathic women out there ✨ we are starting the day with the inspiring public art installation from Katharina Cibulka and her installation back in 2018 covering the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with “As long as the art market is a boys’ club I want to be a feminist” since two years the artist developed as part of @solange_theproject such powerful installations to challenge and create awareness. Yet the sentences succinctly and directly point out existing grievances. Every construction site has its individual challenges that influence Solange and vice versa.

#artxinterior love <3 on Sunday we couldn´t wait to share with you. Interior Designer @JulieHillmanDesign incorporated this mesmerizing #JenniferGuidi piece in her work.

Light and color pervade every aspect of Jennifer Guidi’s work. The Los Angeles artist’s radiant, mandala-like paintings are marked by tonal and chromatic shifts that operate in concert with richly textured surfaces. The effect echoes natural phenomena and undergirds a powerful archetypal symbolism. Guidi mixes sand into her paints—she uses both oils and acrylics—to produce immersive abstract compositions that borrow from the pared-down structures of Minimalism while evoking ancient theories of energy and perception.

the power behind #publicart | @dessertX throwback at this mesmerizing installation "Now You See Me, Now You Don't" from the Saudi artist, Manal Al Dowayan.

“I used to come to the desert with my family as a child,” she says. “We were a family obsessed with geology. But in Al Ula, I saw the puddles that we don’t have in the Eastern Province, where there’s not so much rain. They are magnificent lakes. Places to reflect and look and touch. I wanted to re-create these puddles, which will then disappear just like the natural puddles will.”

Visitors are encouraged to bounce on the trampolines, creating the surreal sight of people bobbing up and down within a narrow offshoot of the valley. Such direct forms of engagement were a key strategy elsewhere. The Emirati curator Noor Al Suwaidi, who was visiting, called the exhibition an “artists’ playground”.

#artist intro on Wednesday | "I love coral reefs for being exotic, diverse, and often venomous. When creating my work I relate to the challenges faced by corals—arguably some of the least relatable animals—by quietly and methodically constructing large, delicate, stony structures that can change an ecosystem. Sadly, coral reefs are so threatened by our greenhouse gas emissions, pollution, and overfishing that scientists agree they may cease to function by the end of this century.

As a sculptor with a background in marine conservation science and policy, I believe art impacts our emotions and can move us to value the blue planet we live on in ways that scientific data often cannot. We protect what we care about and we care about what we know and understand. Art can bring the beauty and peril of coral reefs above the surface and into view and can inspire us to protect the ocean. I hand-build enormous and intricate ceramic sculptural works inspired by the fragile beauty of coral reefs and the human-caused threats they face.

Not only does the chemical makeup of my work parallel that of a natural reef, but porcelain tentacles and the bodies of living corals share a sense of fragility that compels observers to look but not touch. By experiencing my work on a large wall, viewers may feel as if they are hovering over the seafloor and discovering details from every angle" says the artist Courtney.

#artnews on Sunday | @The Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced that the artist @AlexDaCorte will design its roof garden commission this year, exploring the possibility of innocence and hope amid the global uncertainty and sadness wrought by the coronavirus pandemic.

The 40-year-old artist, who lives and works in Philadelphia, is known for immersive installations and for ranging across a variety of mediums, including film, performance, painting, installation, and sculpture.

The Met says his rooftop sculpture, titled As Long as the Sun Lasts, will be fashioned from stainless steel and fiberglass and will be on view from 16 April through 31 October. “The installation, which the artist initiated pandemic first took hold of the world, evokes notions of uncertainty, nostalgia, sadness and hope so inherent in our turbulent times,” says Max Hollein, the Met’s director, in a statement. “With this commission, Da Corte has created a work of art that meets the present moment and its challenges with the promise of optimism.

#projects we are proud of | We had the pleasure to work with interior designer @juergen.hamberger from Steininger. designers together, where Alexandra Schafer curated, sourced, and procured the personal art collection for the owner of the Villa in Croatia.

In the Living Area, we placed the two statement pieces from Belgium-based artist Perry Roberts. In the guest room, the mesmerizing fine-art photography by British photographer Jonathan Smith capturing the attention when entering the room and invites the viewer to linger in the distance.

Prior to walking into the guest room, you can observe the two wood sculptures by Austrian artist Alfred Haberpointner. And finally, the Master Bedroom, overlooking the entire villa with a direct view over the ocean, which required a statement piece. Therefore, the large-scale fine-art photography from German-based artist Johannes Weinsheimer was the perfect piece the client has decided on.

A great project, we had the pleasure to be a part of and work together with a passionate interior designer from STEININGER and the owner on this superb and very personal art collection.
