Our chief art curator Inês Valle spend two months traveling and visiting different places in South Africa, from the the beautiful Tugela river Valley in Kwazulu-Natal, where she continue her relationship with one of the distinguished potters’ families, where the art knowledge of pottery is usually passed from mother to daughters.

The she also visited some cities – as Durban, Johannesburg and the capital of the country Pretoria, here she visit some local contemporary artists, private and museum collections, as well as, meeting some art curators, art galerists and historians. All of this to learn more about the culture and insights about the country and their extraordinary art.
