Catherine Asquith is a highly educated and experienced arts professional. A former Melbourne-based gallerist, Catherine has an academic background in Art History, extensive international travel and residency and, in excess of 20 years working within the Australian art market, and more recently, the Asian art market, across both the primary and secondary sectors. Catherine has curated exhibitions, nationally and internationally; published catalogues; has been invited as a guest speaker for gallery exhibition openings, as well as exclusive corporate events; provided reportage on international art fairs; collaborated with auction houses on selected exhibitions; and has placed numerous artworks with significant institutional and corporate art collections, in addition to private art collections located, across the globe. A former member of the Australian Commercial Galleries Association (ACGA) throughout the tenure of her eponymous commercial art gallery, (appointed State Chair 2010), Catherine is currently a Board Member for the Sydney Art Zone and a member of the Art Consulting Association of Australia (ACAA). Providing bespoke art advisory services, Catherine remains a passionate advocate for bridging the gap between the Australian arts sector and the global art market.
