California painter Mark Perlman’s encaustic paintings bear the evidence of their creation – the cycles of generation, destruction, and regeneration: “I have a deep fascination with the processes of change effected by time and nature’s gradual breaking down of form… I attempt to embody life’s processes of covering and discovering the possibilities of our interactions with the natural forces of time,” Perlman explains.

Perlman is represented in hundreds of public and private collections throughout the world. He has received two National Endowment for the Arts personal artist grants, as well as numerous awards throughout the country. In addition to exhibiting with several galleries throughout the U.S. for over ten years, he has had solo exhibitions in China, Japan and Russia.
