ART BASEL MIAMI 2017 appetite for extraordinary
During 7-10th December Miami turned into the art hub within the US. Celebrating its 16th year of bringing top-notch contemporary art to South Beach, Art Basel is one fair not to miss in the art world. Art Basel Miami again, this year brought together the biggest international “brands” in the art market from the US, Japan, Europe, South Africa to Korea and China. In 2017, with 268 galleries from 32 countries exhibiting their artists among the fair, Art Basel Miami offered a blended mix of various types of media – painting – sculptures – neon art installations, fine art photography, drawings, art collages, and video installations to explore and acquire. The interesting part is the fair mixed well-established artists among upcoming emerging artists within the art scenes. Satellite fairs such as UNTITLED, PULSE, ART MIAMI and SCOPE added towards the calibre of art we were able to explore throughout those dates.

Overall the fair was a great event to attend to. Walking through the fairs, the energy was infectious while exploring the art showcased throughout the hall. Thousands of people attended this year, literally racing through the different halls to add new art to their collections – definitely a unique experience to see how everyone was hunting for the extraordinary and the strong appetite for art not only from the collectors but also from the interior designers and development professionals.
